Bookmark Contest

Caroline Pollan of Cluster 8-1 is the winner of the Pollard Bookmark Contest!  Her entry has gone on to the state level, and online voting is open for the week of March 11-15.  Please vote for her entry (H) in Division IV to help her get to the next level of judging.  The image below has a link to the ballot.

This Year's Theme:
School libraries are for everyone


Timeline 

  • Pollard's deadline is February 7th. 
  • Pollard judges will select a winner and two honorable mentions.  
  • A panel that includes published authors and illustrators will judge the state level entries.  
  • At the end of March, 1st place and honorable mentions will be announced.
  • On May 1st, 1st place and honorable mentions will be honored in an awards ceremony at An Unlikely Story in Plainville, MA. 

Tips 

  • Start early! Sketch and draft a few ideas before settling on your final idea.  
  • Judges will be consider both artistic merit and depiction of the contest theme.  The theme is very important!   
  • Remember that all work must be original.  You can't copy and paste or hand trace images you find online, and you can't use licensed characters from books, movies, TV shows, comics, etc.
  • Look at Division IV (grades 7-12) past winners on this page under "Bookmark Archive" to get inspired.
