Tips
-
Start early! Sketch and draft a few ideas before settling on your final idea.
-
Judges will consider both artistic merit and depiction of the contest theme.
-
The theme "My Library Gives Me Superpowers" is very important! Celebrate your school library program by designing a bookmark showing activities, lessons, resources, and/or experiences your school library and librarian provide that give you and other students “superpowers.” Here are some questions to help you think about the theme: What are some “superpowers” that students might develop as a result of being in a library and/or reading books? How do libraries/books help students to grow and learn? What are some special skills or knowledge that you have gained from libraries/books? In what ways do libraries/books make you feel strong, smart, and/or powerful? What are some of your favorite experiences or activies in the library?
