Why Launching Scholars?
- A strong association between the study of mathematics and economic success implies that access to advanced math classes is a key dividing the separating disadvantaged and advantaged youth.
- STEM professors are among the highest paying jobs in the nation job openings in STEM and healthcare continue to grow.
- Women have only 13% of the engineering jobs in the U.S. and currently make up only 18% of engineering students.
- MCAS performance disparities in mathematics and science persist among different demographic groups.
