Why Launching Scholars?

  • A strong association between the study of mathematics and economic success implies that access to advanced math classes is a key dividing the separating disadvantaged and advantaged youth.
  • STEM professors are among the highest paying jobs in the nation job openings in STEM and healthcare continue to grow.
  • Women have only 13% of the engineering jobs in the U.S. and currently make up only 18% of engineering students.
  • MCAS performance disparities in mathematics and science persist among different demographic groups.

How to Get Involved.

  • Summer Camp
  •  Weekly After School Sessions 
  • Math support with our Math teachers
  • Volunteering - High School alumni return to support students at weekly sessions

  • Fostering a community of scholars (and new friends)

  • Touring Pollard and connecting with Pollard faculty & staff
